Claire is a recurring character in Baccano!, my favorite Japanese novel series. God is my rather silly petname for him, and I call him so for a reason: as long as Claire desires, he can practically accomplish anything and everything as long as he works hard towards his goal. Maybe it's a good thing that he's not ambitious enough to wish for world domination or the like...

Claire's endless confidence is what attracts me to his character the most. Charisma is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Claire, and one would always feel very safe around Claire even when marching into a lion's lair. While many readers would mistake Claire's big attitude for arrogance, there's no other character in fiction who can be as true to his own words: this man is always capable of what he claims he can do.
